Josh Yawn is the #1 school disc jockey in
southeast Texas! Why?
Perhaps the top reason
why my services are so popular with schools is my 100% profanity-free music policy.
From 2001-2002, I was in charge of the internationally used "Okay2Play"
lists for DJs, passed down to me from three of the nation’s most
respected DJs. Music was screened by myself every month, and those that
were suitable for all audiences were added on to a list for other DJs to
view and use. The DJs knew that when they played these songs, there
would be no foul surprises. I still screen music the same way I did when
I was doing the Okay2Play lists.
How am I able to play this
profanity-free music without sacrificing the hits the students demand?
Easy! I start with extra-clean edits thanks to
TM Century, the same
company that provides music to the radio stations. From there, I edit the songs myself resulting
in a completely clean track that no
one else in the area can present anything close to. If a song is what I
consider "unsalvageable," I don’t play it at all. I am very strict
toward my policy and will not cave in to pressure to play the dirty
songs. Further, I have legally acquired all of my music
from the aforementioned TM Century which provides me with
80 new songs a month!
From the time we initially speak, I stay
in touch as best as possible whether through e-mail on a regular basis
until the event. I arrive several hours early to ensure everything is
set up and ready to begin playing 15 minutes prior to the starting time.
I use only the highest industry standard
equipment, from trusted name brands such as Crown, Yamaha, Numark,
Sennheiser and others. I am one of the only services in the area to use
true intelligent lighting for the absolute
hottest light show in the area! The equipment is presented in a neat,
professional manor with tables skirted, and wires hidden. I am
respectful and friendly with the students and take all requests into the
highest consideration.
No other DJ in
the area has the diverse amount of experience that I have and is able to
apply it to the situation. I also work in television and have done
hosting, announcing, voice-overs and music composition. I’m able to apply all of
these skills to the event. All announcements are done in the most
professional manor possible, and I’m able to fully read a crowd's
musical preferences. I motivate the crowds and get them involved.
I’m not just a "human jukebox!"
I would consider it an honor if you would allow me to
come speak, FREE of cost, at your next meeting about the benefits of
hiring me as your DJ and how you CAN afford and reap the benefits of
hiring a professional disc jockey. Don't hesitate to
